I am allowed to bragg

What a beautiful day, full of sunshine and lots of mud. Day one of March has brought me much happiness and a cup that most definitely flowed over.

That black box that is across from our driveway, the bane of my existence some days, ok most days because it never ever has my freelance checks in there when it should. But today, it was my best friend, my very best friend and not because of a check.

A simple thick cream colored envelope with "The Parents of Krischan Miller" in beautiful Calligraphic handwriting. Hmmm, what is this...but I wait till I get in the house. I throw aside the rest of the junk, no checks, bahh. I open this beautiful envelope and my eyes grow wide and a smile as big as the world appears on my face.

"Honey, Listen to this!" I start reading the letter about how Krischan was nominated to participate in the "National Young Scholars Program" summer program in Chevy Chase Maryland!! I keep reading about how Krischan was chosen because of his maturity, achievement at school and leadership skills for one so young. My voice got caught in my throat and a few tears leaked from my eyes.

My Krischan!! a scholar!! Watch out everyone, I am going to be a completely unbearable mother in my moment of pride and love for my oldest. How cool!! so now we are on an adventure of how we are going to get him there and pay for it all.

Anyone need any design work done or Arbonne products?

Krischan got a big kick out of the fact that it was addressed to "Master Krischan". (Oh boy, is this house going to be big enough for all our heads?) He is so excited that he gets to spend a week away from home and can't decide what "discovery strand" he wants to partake in. CSI, The Human Body, Creative Construction, or the one that gives a sampling of all three.

check out my little scholar : )

is anyone out there?

It has been so long since I blogged. So much so that I let my domain expire and it isn't easy to reinstate it…things become more complicated with technology sometimes you just give up. And that is what I am doing now on the domain, giving up and I hope that I can get my monday back. I will be back here.

The big hairy spider went for a ride

I walk out to my car today after class, get in, throw my stuff in the seat next to me and pick up the phone to call Rick so he knows I am on my way home. That is when it happens. I see a slight movement out of the corner of my eye, and there it sits, a large hairy spider, just staring at me. Me, being the arachnophobe, starts freaking out, looking for anything I can use to smash it. This thing is huge!! I am screaming into the phone for help and sensing that I am going to be attacked at any second. I reach down for a book that is close at hand and the spider goes into a vent in my dash. I don't know how it fit, but it slid right in there and disappeared. I began slamming the book into the line he went into and that is when the book was ripped out of my hands and thrown to the back of the car. The spider slowly came out from the vent, got into my purse and came out with paper and a pen. I think this spider must have escaped from a lab or something because it then proceeded to wr...

Musings over a weekend

The weather was beautiful, got to go out on a date with my husband, and got in my garden for some therapy. How much more perfect can a weekend get. On weekends like this my mind wanders (ok it always wanders) and I have specific thoughts that sometimes stick out like neon lights. Musing #1 I can not wait till the day where the only butt I have to wipe, is my own. Musing #2 In three weeks, if it is meant to be...we will have a new family member. (baby puppy..said in the most baby of voices...EVER!) Musing #3 If I had the money, I would hire Martha Stewart to organize my home from the basement on up. (She would be horrified by my current state of organization.) Musing #4 Amazing, I take my husband to a healthy restaurant, and he finds the most unhealthy thing to eat. Musing #5 I am going to wake up at 6:30 so I can get ready for the day, make my cup of coffee, and then go out and watch the sunrise. (that one is pretty funny. I can't remember the last time I actually ...
